How it all began
It started with a simple question: how do you carry wine, fine delicacies and equipment safely and in style when you are on the road? We could not find a solution that truly fitted. So we built it ourselves. The first prototype became Bedfords About Luxus.
One family, four roles
Bedfords About Luxus is a family business from Bad Dürkheim, Germany. Karl measures the cars and builds. Ute plans and designs. Valentin photographs what we create. Lewis looks after the brand and our customers.
Between your enquiry and the finished piece, there is no one you have not met. The person who writes your quote is the same person who later stands at the milling machine. That is not a structure we invented. There are simply four of us.

For all cars with a usable well beneath the boot floor – e.g. Range Rover, BMW X Series, Mercedes GLE/G-Class, Porsche Cayenne and many more. We will confirm whether your car is suitable during the first consultation.
02Can it be extended later?
Whether an extension is possible depends on the existing design. Smaller adjustments are often feasible. We are happy to check this case by case.
03Does the Luxus Traveller keep things cool?
The Luxus Traveller is not an active cool box. The XLPE material has insulating properties that can slow down temperature changes – helpful, but no substitute for active cooling.
04Does the Luxus Traveller keep its contents secure?
Yes – precisely fitted compartments, dimensionally stable material and an individual layout hold the contents reliably in place. The Luxus Traveller is an organisation and protection solution, not a security system.
05Can the insert be removed?
Generally, yes. The Luxus Traveller sits precisely in the well and, depending on the configuration, can be taken out – e.g. for cleaning. We will clarify the details for your specific version.
06What happens if I change my car?
As every Luxus Traveller is made for a specific car, it will usually not fit a different one. If the well geometry is very similar, we check whether it can be reused. In most cases, a new piece is the better choice.
